These regulations are designed to maximize product longevity and ensure user safety. Adherence to these protocols is mandatory.

Section 1: Product Specifications and Quality Assurance

Novusbox utilizes premium materials engineered for outdoor performance and longevity:

• Treated Wood Construction: All primary wooden components are constructed from pressure-treated lumber to resist rot, insect infestation, and decay.

• Triple-Coat Protective Finish: Each unit receives three (3) coats of a specialized protective exterior finish to seal the wood, providing superior resistance against UV exposure, moisture infiltration, and weathering.

• Stainless Steel Hardware: All critical connection points utilize stainless steel screws and hinges to ensure maximum corrosion resistance and structural integrity against the elements.

Section 2: Mandatory Assembly and Structural Protocol

The longevity and stability of your Novusbox unit depend entirely on strict adherence to the following assembly instructions:

2.1 Foundation and Leveling Requirements

1. Required Foundation: The unit must be installed on a permanent, level, and stable foundation. This may include concrete, paving slabs, compacted gravel, or a securely mounted deck surface.

2. Leveling Check: Prior to securing the base, use a spirit level to confirm that the installation surface is perfectly level. Any deviation must be corrected using weather-resistant shims (not supplied) to prevent structural stress and door misalignment.

3. Assembly Team: Assembly must be performed by a minimum of two (2) competent adults to ensure the safe lifting, positioning, and securing of large, heavy panels.

2.2 Hardware and Tool Usage

1. Hardware Integrity: Only the provided stainless steel screws, bolts, and connecting components specified in the instruction manual are authorized for use. Substituting hardware will void the product warranty and compromise structural stability.

2. Tightening Sequence: Follow the tightening sequence specified in the manual. Do not over-tighten screws to avoid stripping the wood, but ensure all joints are fastened securely to eliminate movement or wobble.

3.1 Secure Fixing Requirement

The unit must be permanently secured to a fixed, immovable structure or the ground:

• Wall/Fence Anchoring: If placing the unit against a fixed wall, secure the back panel directly to the structure using heavy-duty masonry or timber anchors (depending on the wall material) through the pre-drilled points.

• Ground Anchoring (Freestanding): For freestanding installations, the unit must be anchored directly into the ground or a concrete slab using heavy-duty ground spikes, or by placing significant internal ballast (e.g., sandbags or concrete blocks, not supplied) at the base corners to prevent movement and tipping.

Section 4: Operational Safety and Misuse Prevention

The Novusbox unit is strictly designed for the passive storage of standard residential or commercial waste bins. Any alternative use is strictly prohibited.

• No Climbing or Standing: Under no circumstances are children, adults, or pets permitted to climb, stand, jump, or sit on any part of the unit (including the lid). The structure is not designed to bear dynamic or concentrated human weight, and such misuse creates a severe tipping and falling hazard.

• Door and Lid Management: Always ensure the unit’s doors and lids are properly closed and latched when not in use. This prevents wind damage and reduces the risk of impact injury from unexpectedly swinging components.

• Hazardous Materials: Do not store flammable liquids, toxic chemicals, propane, or any volatile materials inside the unit. The unit is designed for standard waste storage only.

Section 5: Required Maintenance Schedule

Proper maintenance preserves the structural integrity and high-quality finish of your Novusbox.

5.1 Annual Structural and Splinter Check

• One-Year Inspection: A mandatory detailed inspection must be performed approximately one (1) year after initial installation and repeated annually thereafter.

• Splinter Assessment: Due to natural wood movement and weathering, check all exposed edges, particularly door frames and lid edges, for the presence of splinters. Any splinters detected must be immediately sanded smooth (using fine-grit sandpaper) and re-treated with an approved exterior sealant/stain.

• Hardware Inspection: Tighten all stainless steel screws, bolts, and anchoring connections. Replace any missing or severely damaged hardware immediately.

• Protective Finish: Monitor the triple-coat finish for signs of wear or peeling. Reapply a suitable exterior protective wood finish as needed to maintain the wood’s resilience against moisture.

5.2 Routine Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the unit using a soft cloth or brush and a mild soap solution. Avoid high-pressure washing, harsh chemical cleaners, or abrasive materials, which can degrade the protective finish.

Section 6: Limitation of Liability

Novusbox disclaims all liability for incidents, injuries, or property damage arising from:

• Non-compliance with the mandatory anchoring and foundation requirements outlined in Section 3.

• Improper or incomplete assembly of the unit.

• Misuse, including but not limited to climbing, sitting, or using the unit as a deck or platform.

• Failure to conduct the required annual maintenance and structural integrity checks (Section 5).

By installing and using this Novusbox product, the user acknowledges and accepts full responsibility for the unit’s secure installation, ongoing maintenance, and adherence to all stated safety regulations.
